What We Believe about Tithes and Offerings

This is a very important doctrine/teaching that is not talked about enough, and should be addressed to every Congregation, including ours.

We will elaborate, but in essence, the Born Again Believer in Jesus Christ does NOT have to tithe, and this is important to note that if the individual decides not to tithe at all, this is NOT a sin!

We believe the Church should NOT collect any tithes whatsoever!

Nowhere in the Scriptures does it say that a person should give a tenth of everything that they have IN the dispensation of the Age of Grace. People in the Old Testament for example had to Tithe and if they didn’t THEN it was a sin, but NOW it is not. (Tithing is an O.T. Principle and was done in order to do Animal Sacrifices for an Atonement before the ultimate one Jesus Christ.)

THEREFORE, WARFARE BAPTIST CHURCH REFUSES TO COLLECT ANY MONEY, TITHE, OR OFFERING. ANY MONEY THAT ANY INDIVIDUAL MAY GIVE TO PASTOR LOGSDON WILL NOT BE UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF WARFARE BAPTIST CHURCH AND SHOULD BE GIVEN TO HIM PERSONALLY BY THE INDIVIDUALS FREEWILL AND NOT THROUGH THE CHURCH, THANK YOU!

Some Verses in the Old Testaments on Tithes

Leviticus 27:30-32“And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD. And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.”

Deuteronomy 14:22-23“Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.”

Malachi 3:8-10“Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Numbers 18:21“And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.”

The 7 Verses that mention Tithes in the New Testament

Matthew 23:23, Luke 11:42, and Luke 18:12 mention Tithes but notice how this is still Old Testament because Jesus Christ had not yet died nor fulfilled the Law when he said “It is Finished”, see these verses: Hebrews 9:16 “For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.” Matthew 5:17 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”

Hebrews 7:5, 7:6, 7:8, and 7:9 are comparing the tithes in the Old Testament through the Levitical priesthood (The Mosaic Law) “Abraham” and (The Pre-Law Tithe) “Melchizedek”

Ultimately, the Church is not a bank or a building, It is the Body of Christ!

We Believe that ANY Pastor/Assistant/Elder/Deacon should NOT have a Yearly Salary and should get a job like everyone else.
